Why only sliding doors
Almost every sliding door call in San Diego comes down to the same handful of parts: two rollers, a length of track, a mortise lock and its keeper, a screen door. Doing those jobs all day means the truck carries the right rollers for a 1975 aluminum door and for a 2010 vinyl Milgard, we know which brand takes which part from a photo, and we finish in one visit instead of a diagnosis visit and a parts visit.
It also means we are honest about scope. Heavy multi-slide, lift-slide and pocket doors get a measured quote. Glass gets measured before it is priced. If a door needs a contractor, we say so.
How we work
-
Straight diagnosis
We look at the rollers, the track and the keeper and tell you which one is the problem. No upsell to a new door.
-
The whole price, by text
You see the total before we drive over, and the number at the door is the same number.
-
Done right, once
The right roller for the brand, a clean track, a panel that is re-hung square and a lock that catches without lifting the door.
-
You run the door
You slide it and lock it yourself before we pack up.
Licensing and trust
Roller, track, adjustment, screen and weatherstrip repairs are minor work under $1,000 in labor and materials. California does not require a contractor license for that work (Business and Professions Code section 7048), and we stay inside that line: no permit work, no structural work, no crews. When a job is bigger than that, we tell you it needs a licensed contractor.
We carry photo ID, give you the price before the work, and put it in writing by text.
Meet the technician
Niv, owner and lead technician. Niv is a San Diego tradesman who built Track & Roller Co. around the repair he was asked for most on other jobs: the patio door that drags, jumps or will not lock.
He is particular about the things nobody notices until they are wrong. A panel that is re-hung square so it does not rub the frame. Rollers set so the door glides with one finger. A keeper lined up so the lock catches without anyone lifting the door. If it is not right, he is not done.
He would rather explain what the door needs in plain English and let you choose than sell you hardware you do not need. Often that means rollers and a track cap instead of a new door, and he will tell you so.
